What is WWE?

I'm sure that many of you out there watchs WWE. But what exactky is it? It'sm not about crazy acts like punching each other and make each other bleed! It's about technical. Today, I will take you further through.

World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (Also known as WWE) is a sports entertainment company which is publicly traded and privately controlled by Vince McMahon, the majority owner and chairman of the company. WWE was previously known as Titan Sports before changing to World Wrestling Federation Entertainment, Inc., and finally became World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. WWE focus on professional wrestling, a stimulated sport which combines wrestling with acting. The blood seen in the show is actually real blood. The wrestlers ate a kind of medicine that their blood thin before going to a show that involved blood. When their opponent hit them, they will take this chance and cut themselves with their very thin blade. They will then bleed but not very severely.

In April 2002, about a month before the name change, WWE decided to create two separate rosters, Raw and Smackdown! due to the overabundance of talent left over. This is known as the WWE Brand Extension. In May 26, 2006, WWE revived Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) as its third brand. The WWE is currently the largest professional wrestling promotion in the world and holds an extensive library of videos.
